Salad Orange

A Sicilian dish, this original salad was traditionally used as a starter. Today it is usually used a main course, for a healthier and lighter meal.


  • 4 oranges
  • 16 walnuts
  • 250g of mixed salad
  • vinegar
  • pepper
  • extra virgin olive oil


  1. Open the nuts and chop the kernels coarsely
  2. Peel the oranges, cut them into slices divided into pieces and place over the salad along with the nuts
  3. Season with 2 oil spoons, a tablespoon of wine vinegar (balsamic vinegar is even better) and salt
  4. Stir gently and serve with freshly ground pepper
