Marinara mussels

Tasty appetizer, fast and easy to cook. Marinara mussels is a typical italian seafood dish. Use only very fresh mussels.


  • 1 kg of mussels
  • half glass of dry white wine
  • parsley
  • garlic
  • lemon
  • extra virgin oil
  • pepper or chili pepper


  1. Wash and scrape mussels carefully
  2. Press three cloves of garlic into a casserole and let them brown in two tablespoons of oil
  3. Add mussels and white wine (about 70 ml), keep the lid on and the fire high until all mussels are open
  4. Add a full tablespoon of chopped parsley, a tiny hint of chili pepper (or ground pepper) and keep the fire high for 2 minutes
  5. Put mussels into a platter, remove garlic, filter cooking water and pour it into the mussels
  6. Serve at hot temperature. Add lemon wedges
